Does anyone know if anyone makes aluminum valve covers for the 3.7L V-6 in my 2004 Dakota. The stock ones rusted through, and I can't see spending almost $200 for new stock ones. I only have about 65k on the truck.
No, they are not missing. I think the reason they rusted through is, I only use the truck on snowy days. The salt they use on the roads (or the "new" stuff they are using) gets sprayed up in the engine compartment, and then the truck sits, without having the benefit of getting washed off when it rains, etc. I REALLY have to start taking better care of it, I know! Since divorce, just don't have time to take care of my vehicles like I used to!
I checked my valve covers today (2004 dakota sxt) and the passenger side is rusted through. I have never seen anything like that before. Looking for suggestion on replacement.
