Cool stuck bolt!

I am trying to get the nut off the screw that holds the ground wire to the block, the wire to the battery, I think its a 9/16s, but all I have is a metric set so the 15mm is the only one that fits, but it does not turn and I think the nut was striped by the mechanic that took it off when it was my moms truck. I tried PB spray, but that don't work, anyone got ant suggestions, it would surely help! I even tried a pair of vice grips but they just slip around the nut, LOL!

Maybe use stronger vise grips, or soak it again with PB and let it sit longer, take a smaller socket that is a cheap one you don't mind sacrificing and pound it on to the nut then turn it out with a ratchet or possibly a breaker bar. If you can get at it with a torch heat the nut up and turn it that way, if all else fails use a nut splitter or cut off wheel on a dremel tool and cut it on one side and chisel it off.

get the right size box end wrench on there and try to hit the bolt with a hammer, ball peen would be best if you can get a swing at it. Kind of works like an impact 'gun'.

Thanks for the advice, the thing is it shard to get at, the metal pipe thing that goes the rubber hose that carries the coolant is right there in the way I can bend it a little but don't want to bend it to far, the nut is really stripped to the point it looks round. I was thinking maybe cut it off then ground it to the nut closes to it.

Sears sells lots of gadgets for stripped nuts and bolts, if you have one nearby.

What exactly are you trying to do? Replace the battery cable? If that's all you need, cut the cable off at the block, leave the stub there, and find a different place to bolt the new one.

That's what I was thinking of doing TOMA, there's a bolt like 3 or 4 inches from the one I'm trying to get off, it comes off with no problem. thanks.

Default use a pipe wrench

When I find something that does not turn I use a pipe wrench.
