rear axle wheelstud replacement
hey all, i had a ? about replacing wheel stud on the rear of my 2000 dakota. i looked at some new ones on inter. and it showed screw in studs for my truck, looked like allen head in it but when i had tires off dont recall seeing anything like that on my original studs. i thought they popped in from rear like every other vehichle. when i seen them it sid yes they fit your vehc. any help also on differential look like rubber plug to check fluid, is that correct?thanx in advance
Should look like these Pic may not be exact match be careful they may give you the wrong part or if shop installed make sure they have the correct part installed inspect the job.
Why?????
I had a shop install a few studs that were too long on my rear and it wasn't allowing my rim to seat properly to the drum. You can tell by the rust the rim wasn't seating flush to the drum like the other original studs.
So be sure they are the correct part or you could develop wheel problems.
