Tranny has been acting up for a while now. You have to give it a lot of gas to get it to move but once it was moving it shifted fine. Yesterday I was driving around and noticed it starting to slip some. Stopped at a buddies place and when I went to leave it wouldn't move. I went back later in the afternoon thinking that I might be able to limp it home once it cooked down but it still wouldn't move. I've found a couple used transmissions. One is from the same truck(00 crew cab) with 119k on it and the other is from an 04 with 106k on it, which I assume is the 545rfe. What do I need to make the 545rfe work or am I wasting my time ? Is rather have the 545 with less miles but if it's going to be a pain, I'll just do the direct swap with the 45rfe. Opinions?
