Dakota Won't Start

Well, it's finally fixed
Sorry to have not been on this thread for quite a while, but with the combination of the weather, the Seahawks game last weekend and not getting home until well after dark most days, I wasn't able to get to work on it.
Last weekend, we worked with the replacement starter, got it working without bad noises - I test started the truck a dozen + times with it behaving perfectly. Took it out on a long test drive and tried to start it - damn starter decided to not throw the solenoid.
So the replacement starter is bad - the solenoid won't throw the gear to the flywheel, but it does spin the starter motor.
After going through the agony of pulling that one out and getting a warranty replacement, the new starter is in as of today, and working perfectly on the first try - and a couple dozen more. Even after a long test drive.
This is with both bolts pulled up tight on the starter, we didn't have to do any shimming or anything, even though the original starter had that loose bottom bolt.
Thanks for the tips and assistance guys!
