differential fluid change

Default differential fluid change

I just done with changing the diff fluid on my dodge Dakota slt v6 2000, and the fluid capacity info said 4.9qts, but when I filled it only came out to like 3qts, is this normal? this is the first time I done this change. can anyone tell me whats going on?

My guess is that it calls for 4.9 pints. 4.9 quarts is way too much.

I found that out at the auto parts store, ha ha! But thanks for the info.
