I have looked at a 2nd gen Dakota not sure what yr,motor etc yet will find more today. It is silver and has body damage missing the rt fog light front bumper left corner has a piece broken off of plastic, and several dents 2wd auto and looks like a nice inside. Wants $1500.00 obo and needs tires. What motors did these have? What to look for and pro's and con's thanks

 

Motor depends on the year. It could be a 2.5, 3.7, 3.9, 4.7, 5.2, 5.9.

Ball joints are the weak link. But since they'all are getting up there in age check for rust around the wheel wells, the rear shackles, and cab mounts.
