2000 dodge dakota 4x4 v-6

When driving some times the trans sticks and I have to let off the gas for it to shift.

Truck has been sitting for awhile, im thinking the transmission control Solenoid could be dirty or going bad?

Once the truck warms up and is driving its hit or miss.

When cold it does it in first to second gear after awhile it will do it in the higher gears and then its hit of miss.

Should I just pull it out and try to clean the screen?
