Default o2 sensor

I have an issue with my 01 4.7ltr. Quad cab Dakota . has anyone ever had their o2 sensor plug melt to the exhaust ? That's what happened to me and now I have no idea where the wires go in regards to the plug on the sensor its self . to top it off I have fours (4) o2 sensors. Went to my local dealer and they told me "good luck" . please help !!!!

Yes, there are 4 sensors; 2 pre cat out of the headers and 2 post cat.

Welcome to the Forum!

Same truck as my truck, and I had a shop replace my upstream ones, so I have no clue about wiring. In fact, the connectors were wrong, so he stripped the wires.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum Dakman.

It might be easier to hit up a junk yard for the 02 harness. Just cut it somewhere you can reach it. Then cut back your existing harness and splice them together. I'd use some of the marine type heat shrink on them, with the glue to keep out moisture.

Be sure to get the correct one as they are Keyed to each O2 sensor so you don't plug in the wrong O2 sensor.

I lived in southern California from 67 to 03 why they inserted such a strong SMOG law was in the early 70's you could see all the great mountains in the distance it was beautiful especially when the mountain's had snow on them. Then all of a sudden they were gone no more mountains only on very clear days it sucked and the sky's were getting a very gray nasty color to them.

So SMOG sucks but the mountains are almost back you can see them more often than before.
