Transmission Removal

Default Transmission Removal

Quick question, last time I removed my Transmission to replace clutch I removed my exhaust which is a pain in the *** to get those 2 bolts off the flanges. They are in terrible spots to get in there. Is it needed to remove the Exhaust to drop Transmission or no?


2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7 Manual Transmission.

I can't see how'd you'd get it out without removing the exhaust. The bellhousing is one piece with the tranny.

The FSM says to disconnect the exhaust.
