Default Lifting without a lft kit

Have a 1997 Dakota Sport 4x4. What springs would you recommend to raise the front and what about the rear end as well?

the 4x4 has torsion bars; not springs..

You can crack the torsions to get a little more lift in the front more of a level unless you put blocks in teh back but with out a kit thats all your gonna get.

Cranking the torsion bars is the only way to get some lift. Depends how much you are looking for.. Cranking the front will bring it about level with the rear

also also make it ride much firmer, and depending on how far you go, may no longer be able to get within camber specs.

Ride in an older 3/4 or 1 ton truck and you won't notice a difference in the Dakota. At 1.5in of lift it isn't much to get it back in specs.

well yea. I'd call that about analogous. But a stock dakota and a dakota with 1.5-2.0 cranked in the bars are night and day...former is a car, latter is a 3/4-4/4-5/4 ton truck.
