Cool '97 Dak ?s

Hi all, got a '97Dak with 5.2 2WD 169,000 on the clock. some how lost oil pressure, now very slight rattle on start up will build pressure slowly but I think it's time for a rebuild. The question is any good rebuilders in So. Cal. area? Or try reman. from Jasper or? Didn't hear too many good reports with them, if it would ever cool down here I'd be willing to pull it and attempt to do the work myself Any suggestions would appreciated Thanks!

So. Cal. area? Where exactly

lots of shops well I've been gone 9 years now so could be different.

You talking Newport Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa?

Unfortunately I don't have any names but ask around a machine shop they can tell you.

Good luck

Before you rebuild, you may want to pull off the oil pan and check for sludge, blocking the pickup screen.

I have personally seen and repaired this exact problem on a RAM 1500 with a 5.2 engine.

Not local, but super fast shipping Summit Racing.

Truthfully, though, the stock pump should be fine for pretty much any application.
