Default Same prob

Had to replace a couple of lifters because of oil pressure/ heat...4.7's an interesting motor to work on for sure. Any questions, I have personal experience deep in it. Just ask...

Default Stripped Threads. 2005 Ram 4.7L

Stripped the threads on a new oil pressure sending unit/switch
Got another new one, snugged it up, now oil leaks heavily from the unit when I start the truck.
Ive tried to back it out and replace and snug up a few quarter turns and try and try again.
Stuck in a rut with this and really don’t want to give up.

Is the housing it screws into cracked? Is it just leaking around the threads? Putting any sealer on the threads?

Yes it’s the housing, it cracked a good sized chunk from the top of the thread housing. It isn’t the traditional “drill at each side” crack. But, I definitely don’t think I’ll be able to use tap the threads.
yes a few layers of Teflon tape was applied in the original failed installation

The gunk is dried up JB weld (crap application) that I’m trying to carefully remove. I’m an idiot when it comes to these sorts of things and I really need a quick fix

I’m not sure, I have been looking online and haven’t found any sort of replacement for the housing. I have heard that I can weld or JB weld the hole closed entirely, but I am unsure of the effects it would cause.

Can you post some pics of the engine, and where the sensor mounts?

I have uploaded a video, hopefully it is able to be viewed.

The video is shot horizontally, so the sensor mounts directly above the oil filter.

I can get more pictures or another video if needed.
