No interior lights at all.
OK step by step.....My glovebox wouldn't open. I had to pry it open. it was the catch was broken. Plastic...go figure...
Ok the glovebox light was staying on . So I figured to pull the bulb so the Battery want go dead. In doing so I broke the part that holds the buld...Plastic again....
That night I noticed the interior lights are not working at all. No map lights or floorboards are coming on. Could it be where I was messing with the glovebox light. I have checked the Fusses and do not find a blown one anywhere.
Thanks for the replies...

Unfortunately I don't have a wiring diagram for a '97 but in later years there is one fuse for the interior lights, including the glove box.
Did you check the junction box on the side of the dash?

A 97 may also have the Ignition Off Draw fuse, which if I remember it right is in the Power Distribution Center fuse box under the hood. If the IOD fuse is blown it can also take out the dome lamps too.

Cant remember about the dakotas but In my ram lost my interior lights and a few other things that was run by the iod fuse mine was covered by a yellow cap in the fusebox that you have to take off to pull the fuse
