Default NV3500 or NV3550?

I'm running into some confusion with the transmission in my truck.
2003 QC Dak-o-saurus 4.7L 5Spd.
In the midst of changing the clutch I realized my pilot bearing had disintegrated and was nothing more than a...sleeve. It wore a nice groove in the end of my input shaft. So, I'm looking into replacing the input shaft when I run across an anomaly.
The input shaft that gets listed for my vehicle is PN: 290-16BR. Okay. But it's missing something - Clutch ID Grooves.
After some more research, I've found that the input shaft with these ID Grooves only comes for the NV3550. In fact, the PN for that shaft is NV3550-16. When I research that part and check fit notes; every single one of the denies that this part belongs on a Dodge Dakota.
What is happening? I realize that in 2005 Dodge started using the "Getdragged" 6 Speeds, so maybe for the end of the 2nd Gen Dakota run they just shoved in the NV3550 Jeep Tranny's and called it a frickin' day?
There seems to be a lot of mincing of terms between the 3500 and the 3550, too. When looking into rebuild kits, a lot of them say they'll work for both models, but the Dakota is not listed in Fit Notes.
The Part Number of the Transmission itself is P52108229AD. That doesn't yield me much information, either.

Anyone?

It appears that the input shaft for the 3500 and the 3550 are the same part in the 2002-2003 Dakota's.
Chrysler, you silly bastards. ><

type in your vin # to find out what transfer case you have ( I almost bought the wrong transfer case chain until I did that TC tag said np231 D but actually np231D HD on my 2000 Dakota all, All the parts places kept telling me it to be a 1" but the HD is 1.25" ) there are so many variations of TC that you have to lock up your vin to be sure what to get

Didn't you notice any clutch vibration during shifting or vibration just driving the truck I would think if that bad it would.

I would also replace the shaft bearing at the same time its probably damaged I would replace all clutch parts pressure plate especial.
