Default No Power When Gas Given

Recently I picked up a 98 Dakota R/T. Was told it didn't run when purchased. We did get it running but whenever we gave it gas it didn't like to go up in rpms at all. It gave some error codes. We finally figured out that the distributor was by about 180 degrees. We fixed that. Now we have no error codes/check engine light but the truck is still doing the same thing. It does idle better now though. But as soon as the gas is given it wants to stall out.

Kind of at a loss at what would be causing the problem now.

What engine? How many miles? If it's a 318 or 360 have you checked the plenum? Clogged cat could cause it due to a blown plenum.

It's the 5.9l and 130,000 miles. The cat and exhaust are removed currently.

So what else have you done and/or changed so far so that we don't sit here a and suggest things you have already done.

Changed the distributor cap and rotor, took the exhaust off, reset the distributor, unplugged and replugged all major sensors. That should be it.

Have you checked for any vacuum leaks?

Plugs and wires are good. There are no vacuum leaks.

I was gonna say O2 sensors but I guess that doesn't apply when the exhaust is removed....
