P0108 and P0132 after a big shower
Hi guys,
owner of a 2000 Dakota (4.7) here. Today, to make my daughter laugh, I went thru a nice water patch on the road at high speed. The patch was deeper than I thought and I think that the engine got a nice shower.
I know I am an idiot. I wont do it again ...
So few minutes after the event (like 3-4 minutes), the truck started to run very rough. I had to drive back home at like 10 mph with very rough idle. The engine could not handle any load.
What I do not like is that even after few hours drying, the engine still cannot run nicely.
I then came here and found a way to extract the engine codes. So here they are
P0108 (M) Map Sensor Voltage To High MAP sensor input above maximum acceptable voltage.
P0132 (M) 1/1 O2 Sensor Shorted To Voltage Oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above normal operating range
Questions:
1. I found info about P0108, where the MAP sensor could be defective, but nothing about the P0132. What is this?
2. Is it possible that the sensors are soaked? And that the truck should run smoother when everything will dry out? Could it be PURE coincidence?

Be careful about that in the future. Enough water down the intake and you're buying a new engine.
The MAP sensor may have gotten water in it. They don't last forever at any point.
The O2 sensor, I'd tend to think it is more of a connector issue than the actual sensor itself.
Do NOT use Bosch if you decide to replace the O2 sensor. For the MAP sensor, go with an OEM (Dodge) sensor. There are a lot of cheaper parts, yes, but they often DO NOT last very long.

I was surprised that both code went out at the same time. I am under the impression that one could be the effect of the failure of the other.
Anyway I ordered both, god knows how old were those anyway.
