Default No brake lights!! Help

Hello there. I got an 01 dak with the 4.7. Having an issue with the brake lights. Signals, hazards, and tail lights work. Brake lights won't work. The fuse under the hood kept blowing. I changed the switch and they worked just fine (for about 5 minutes). Now no brake lights again. Fuse is still good. Anybody have a similar issue?

Does the 3rd brake light, the CHMSL, work?

The brake light switch does not directly switch the stop lights. It sends a signal to the combination flasher which handles the turn/stop/hazards. They all use the same wires from the combination flasher to the lamps themselves.

But, the brake lamp switch does directly control the 3rd brake light. Pull the cover and check it out. There is also an aftermarket 3rd brake light connector under the rear bumper for if you have a camper top or similar. Make sure it's not shorting out.
