Default Can I heat shrink the O2 sensor connector

Hi guys,

I have the Dakota 2000 4.7.

I have a simple question here ...

I recently got an issue with my O2 sensor (in front of the cat) after the connector got soaked in water.

Not sure if its a coincidence or not, but I started to have issues with it right after that shower. I was wondering, would you see any issue if put an heat shrink tube over the connector? I would just need to cut it out if I ever need to change the connector again.

Also, is that connector considered water resistant? I guess so considering its location.

Could you heat shrink it, yes. But, you need to make sure that what you do won't trap water inside instead?

You might consider the marine grade heat shrink.
