Default Abs Light 78 base brake system incident.

On my 2004 dodge dakota 4x4 4.7L Recently my abs and my parking brake light came on and stayed on.
Went to Oreilly auto parts and they checked it with their Bosch scan tool It came up with code 78 Base Brake System Incident.
does anyone know what part I need to replace? There tool would not reset the code either.
My truck only has rear wheel drive abs sensor in the differential. I was told that that sensor in the differential was bad my speedometer
would now work.

Also what is a good abs code reader to purchase that will shut off the abs light when I get it fixed?
I was told I need a abs scanner with mode 6 capability.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
Troy

This all started when my Master cylinder starting leaking internally and filled up the brake power booster with Brake fluid.
Also when I bled the brakes there was a white colored brake fluid that came out.
I flushed out all the brake fluid and put in new.
The new master cylinder came with new brake sensor already installed.

Did you flush out the old DOT 3 in proper order back to front?

I would flush it out again and see if things improve sounds like moisture got into the system this can be hard to do completely remove contaminated fluid in the brake system.

try again

I would also pull apart your rear brakes if drums and check the cylinders or just replace them they are cheap about $12 each.

You may also have air in the system if it ever completely drained or from replacing the master this can be very hard to clear out all the air in the ABS part of the system.

a start
