Thanks Dan and Friar. So I'm having a hard time trying to buy the replacement part. So far, this is the only thing I found. The weather has been bad, so I haven't been able to work on the truck. I'm assuming this is the part even though it's called something else;
So the needles move a little bit but not much. I double checked connection. Maybe it's the cluster? Gonna hafta wait until I get home to buy any replacement parts. I still think it's a short by the computer by one of the three terminals. Probably the bus one (whichever that one is)
Ok. I might have found the culprit. I found a melted connector that comes fm under the coolant container but looks like it's comes from the PCM. It's got 4 wires in it
I saw this hanging down but I think it's a heated 02 sensor (upstream). Not sure what the smaller connection is though. I am thinking of doing the crankshaft position sensor and or cam shaft sensor
Is that white one for washer fluid sensor or pump? It looks like something's plugged into the black one. I'm trying to find a manual or schematic for the '97.
Can you tell what is plugged into the black plug? Looks like maybe a jumper plug or inline fuse. If you can see the wire colors, I think we can figure out what it is and where it goes.
I can't right now but I know it's got 4 of them. I will let you know when it stops raining. I was thinking 02 sensor because it looked like one in a Haynes book I got
