Default Idle Arms

What's a good way to tell if your idler arms are worn. 99 dakota 5.2 4wd

When they come apart. *grins*

Actually, any movement besides rotational is bad; OTOH, they're not that much, with a decent separator they're not that hard to DIY, and new/tight idlers do wonders for improving the steering on a drag link /recirc ball design (like yours is).

RockAuto ranges from the really cheap "Why bother?" parts under $20 to the most expensive at about $98 the day I type this. One more thing is, do you have one or two idler arms? (My truck is RWD, so no idler; just a rack and pinion.)
