Front end rumble?
Ok, so I replaced all bushings upper and lower, both outer tie rods and all ball joints on both sides.
I've never driven a 4x4 with IFS, it still seems I am getting what could be characterized as a rumble or slight clunk and maybe a shimmy when I hit some rough spots on the road. Its not bad, but I'm wondering what to check next.
Like I said, this may be normal for an IFS 4x4, but I can't compare it to when the truck was new.

My 1988 2WD has some sloppiness due to the bad bushing in the rack, so I'm replacing both with poly.
Could also be the intermediate shaft.
Sway bar is worth a look, end links and bushings, although that won't cause sloppiness in steering.

Shocks are new, outer tie rods are new. I checked the inners from a laymans point of view and they seemed very tight with no play at all.
Its like when you hit a bump the front end gets loose for a second. You feel it in the steering wheel.
I did all bushings, top and lower arms, how tight do you make those nuts holding the arms on. I can crank them to the point that the frame support will bend in a bit?

The control arm bushing nuts get torqued to 130 foot pounds.
The upper control arm bolts - 165 foot pounds
The lower suspension pivot bolts, 80 ft pounds on the front and 140 on the rear.
How tight are the bearings? What size tires are you running?

I will check those torques, Im pretty sure I didn't go that high, esp since I just got my first torque wrench for fathers day!
Had the hub assemblys and knuckle out together and they seemed smooth and tight, no slow spots and def not loose at all.
Tires are p245/70R16
