I was on my way to work last week i was driving to work and my transfer case exploded completely cracked in half separating my drive shaft from everything. So my question is can i get a longer drive shaft and make it a 2 wheel drive truck temporarily? Or is that more costly? Im trying for the easiest cheapest fix as the truck itself is not worth dumping money in to just want to keep her moving until i pay some other things off and buy a new truck in a little while. Any ideas for a quick fix other than a rag in the gas tank?!?

You'll be changing the transmission, or its case, if you decide to go 2wd and remove the transfer case. The transfer case attaches to the transmission and you can't just swap drive shafts.

It shouldn't be that hard to find the correct transfer case. http://www.car-part.com
