Default Best Plugs for 3.9L?

So I have a bit of a predicament. All my driving life I've ran 1st gen Dakotas and Dangah R***ahs since they're indestructible work trucks and I know what they like. Though a recent purchase of a '01 w/a 3.9L, 42RE, 2wd has stumped me. I run NGK Iridium IX in my '92, '93, and '96 with no issues. As soon as I put them in my '01 with the it pings, spits, and runs like crap. It HAD Champion 4071 "Truck Plugs" which are JUNK in anything. So Other than Champions what'd be the best plugs for my trash hauler?

My truck, which I purchased from new, is running the plugs it came with and having NO problems. Can't tell you what they are though, since I am of the school of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Change oil and filter when the clock or the odo are at the right time, check brakes and tires and all that good stuff, but plugs and wires haven't been touched. Not lots of miles on the truck, 65K, but no reason to mess with what works.

For my non truck vehicles I tend toward NGK plugs if that is any help.

As for our Iridium plugs, I've never read anything grand about them, but YMMV I guess.

You can't go wrong with NGK plugs. Bosch is another dependable brand.

ALWAYS use copper plugs in 3.9's, 5.2's and 5.9's. Anything else is plecebo, wasting your money and possible doing more harm then good in your engine.

To avoid IBTL I actually put NGK Iridium IXs in it an the thing runs mint. Popped a Borg Warner cap, MSD 8mm wires, and swapped the TB for a 5.7 and the thing will haul just about anything I throw at it... as long as the oil is full. It idles at around 800-950 but I figured better contact and adjusted timing fixed it.

Should have a emissions sticker under the hood. The copper champions are the ones I believe came with your truck when new. They have a .040 gap

It will NOT run Champions or Autolites. Tries to fight every chance to run right at every turn. Bosch is crap in it. It only seems to like NGK or Motorcraft. It's the same as putting Champions in a Jap bike. It WILL NOT RUN.

You're truck must be a real work of art. "Can't" have a glass pack on it or "the transmission won't shift right" and "can't" have OEM plugs.
