Default still check gauges and new parts

I own a 2000 dodge dakota that I have been fixing up to sell. I wax in the last stages of finishing the truck when I screwed up. I wanted a new battery in it so I bought a new one and hooked it up backwards. The posts were opposite of the battery that came out.Has it like this for 10 minutes or more and I in my infinite wisdom even started it before I realized what I had done. .replaced pcm, alternator and burnt fuses and still getting the low voltage and check gauges light...my alternator seems to get hot..and is not charging battery. I tested it..Idk where to go now...frustrated as hell as I has sold this unit and the buyer is waiting for it.any suggestions would be appreciated. ..thanks

Hooking up a battery backwards will cause all kinds of havoc. Who knows what you burned up.

Possibly a fried cluster too. The cluster, the CTM, the PCM, are all computers, along with the air bag, transmission, you name it.

Electronics don't like reverse polarity.

You've got some troubleshooting to do.
