AC Orifice Tube Location
So the final story on the 2004 Dakota orifice tube. I couldn't find it. I took the "liquid line" off and could not locate it. I took the line to Oreillys and WE couldn't find it. I then went to the Dodge dealership and the guy in the parts department said that the orifice tube in a '04 Dakota is NOT serviceable. He told me a place in OK City I could get one next week and if I ordered it from Dodge it'd be $220. Bottom line, I blew the hose out with compressed air and reinstalled it. I'm going to go and get it vacuumed and charged at 1 oclock so I'll let y'all know how that turns out.
OK
Im not sure you understood what I was trying to tell you inside the line/tube is the orifice tube I said blow it out to get it out its the small plastic part with a small filter cone on it and 1 or 2 o-rings thats what you were trying to blow out.
Sounds weird it should be called an orifice valve not tube the tube is what its inserted/installed into.
Jerks at Dodge want you to spend $200 getting an (orifice tube) tube and all when all you need is the .99 cent plastic valve that goes in the tube.
The reason you should always replace this is the inlet filter screen can get clogged up.
