Default '02 Electrical/starting problem

Hi all. I'm new to the forum. I'm having issues with my '02 Dakota (3.9L V6). I don't want to have to pay big money to get it fixed and thought I would exhaust avenues before drastic measures.

Here's my problem (I'll try to make this quick):
About 2 months ago I was driving home and all my lights all of a sudden began flickering on and off intermittently. Luckily I was able to make it home but from that point forward I would not drive at night. I let my truck sit for a couple of weeks and when I decided to drive it again it wouldn't crank. I went and bought a new battery and I was able to drive it again sans the headlights. When I parked my truck my wife noticed that there was a low buzzing coming from the headlights. So I disconnected my battery and the buzzing stopped. Fast forward a couple weeks and I'm driving my truck around town running errands. I park for a while and come back and my truck will not crank. When I turn the ignition there is nothing. No clicks no clunk. I consult with a friend d and he said it sounds like an ignition switch. I change it out and no progress. The buzzing sound still remains constant when the battery is connected.

I'm looking for any advice, recommendations, and help.

I have no specific contribution except to say that several months ago I started having intermittent problems with my left turn signal. It turned out to be a connector under the truck that had corroded from salt and general age. You "might" find something along those lines, but obviously something that is going to affect the entire vehicle, not just one turn signal circuit. (I DID pay to have the problem diagnosed and repaired but it wasn't "big" money.)

Your problem doesn't sound at all like an ignition switch since it is light elated. The ignition switch has nothing to do with the lights. I know you changed it already, just thinking aloud here. I have seen problems related to dirty ground connections. I don't know where any of them are but it could be the problem. The low buzzing may also be somehow related to the headlight on warning buzzer. See if you can get a schematic and trace the wiring to see what might contribute to the problem. Obviously, throwing parts at it only saves to thin your wallet but not fix the problems.
