Need Better Heat for winter
#12
I will try taping holes and two way flush. Temp gauge goes up to normal and haven't had truck over heat (knock on wood). I hear the blendor flapping and I know blower works good as well as all the different settings (floor, vent, defrost, vent&floor). One day the heat was warmer than the other. It's weird. I will flush the crap out of it. Thanks

So I am waiting for the engine to cool down a little bit but I have everything ready to go. I taped off the holes. I noticed that when the temperature outside is cooler, the heat doesn't get as hot. This leads me to believe that it has something to do with the outside air getting through the radiator. Here are some pics.

So I saw a video on YouTube where this guy puts a T (1.5"X1.5"x5/8") to bypass water pump and go straight to radiator. He also put a rubber shroud in front of radiator that he can raise manually and clip at different heights to allow cooler air to cool off radiator. His main argument was that dodge engineered the heating system as a sone size engine heats all. He had a 3.8 or something and has two videos to prove it works.
I flushed my heater core both ways and it's warm when truck warms up and sits in driveway at noontime at 55 degrees outside. I don't think this will be the case when I'm driving on highway in winter time. If I can figure out how to send the link to videos, I will attach them.
