Is there a way to open it without breaking something? Once it is open I am sure I can fix it. Thanks

 

You take the hunting screws off from under the dash and maybe access the latch that way. At least on my '01 you can take the screws off. I never tried to access the latch.

BTW is the lock locked? I believe I've seen somewhere that you just got this truck so maybe that's all that is wrong. Maybe it's nothing but a "DUH" moment that everyone has occasionally!

 

My grandson got it opened yesterday. Using a small flat screw driver we can pull down on the spring and it opens. Darn it there wasn't a million dollars hidden in there. There was nothing at all. SO I closed it and most likely wont even use it. Well I guess I can put the owners manual in there.
