The one thing thats going to get you more power from the 2.5 is a jeep 4.0 throttle body swap or better a 4.0 TB bored out to a 62mm ebay has them all the time. best cheapest bang for the $$ is an ebay jeep 4.0 TB years 98 to 2000 runs $50 and up a good bored out 4.0 $100 and up.
You will feel the change more with a 4.0 62mm just be sure the TB has a map sensor usually 98 and up.
Most will claim you just swap the TB but you need the manifold bored out to 62mm if going that big the stock 4.0 dosent need the manifold bored out but it helps as its only 58mm the stock 2.5 is 52mm if I remember.
