Default Oil pressure gauge

So with hte super cold weather out here on east side(NJ Joisey) my oil gauge seems to be malfunctioning. The other morning it was 5 deg F and the gauge gauge didn't move when I started the truck. 3 hrs later when sun was up and temp came around to 25deg, gauge is working like before and Check Gauges light is gone.
Happen again today at 3 deg this morning, we'll see what happens this afternoon.
you think this a sign of bad sending unit?

Probably.

But, if it continues you should check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge - just to rule out a problem.

What oil are you running?

5w-30 may help. It could just be a bad sender too. They do fail.
