I have an 02 2wd with 3.55 gears. I have found an '04 2wd with 3.92's for a decent price.

Both are the 8.25" and both have drum brakes..

Can I do a straight swap? or is there a difference between 02's to 03-04's?

 

97 to 04 should all interchange, 05 is when they went to 5 lug and some rear disc also.only issue i can think of is some are spring over and some are spring under,so check to see if the spring perches match with with your axle..

 

both being 2WD should be spring under, you should be fine with the swap
