Default 2003 4.7 Interchange

Is there an engine that can interchange with a 2003 dodge Dakota 4.7 magnum engine?

Hello I need HELP
Anyone with a 2003 Dodge Dakota 4wd my engine has to be replaced and everyone needs to know if it has a 32 crank gear or a 16? I was told the engine is no longer being made and it was only used in 2003 so please help.

Welcome to the forum Not.

The 4.7 was used in more years than '03. There were changes but that happens to every engine.

The easy way to tell is to look at the PCM. If it has 3 plugs then it is JTEC, 16 tooth. If it has 4 plugs, it is NGC, 32 tooth tone rings. You can also check the RH cam sprocket, it will be stamped NGC.
