Front bumper removal
Hello,
I have a 2004 Quad cab that I am trying to install a brush guard on. It is not the kind that mounts to the frame underneath, but mounts to the top and front of bumper with 4 bolts.
The problem I am having is getting my meathook hands into the space between the bumper steel of the bumper and the radiator.
Am I going to have to take the bumper completely off in order to mount this? And if so, Does anyone have a schematic of the front of the truck that shows what bolts I need to remove?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Bill

I know I'm replying to an old post. It came up when I searched this topic.
I had to remove the front bumper for painting. The service manual provides little information. Yeah this is pretty simple, but when I searched I found squat so here it is.
Start underneath the truck by removing the plastic air deflector that covers the oil filter and drive pulley. Detach the rubber flap that goes between the bumper and the frame from the frame. Disconnect the fog lamps if installed. Open the hood and the bumper bolts (M12x1.75x30) are to the left and right of the radiator. Get a GOOD 18mm six point socket,(I shattered my crappy 12 point doing this) a 4" extension, and a breaker bar. Torque to 55 ft-lb.
If you lean up against the bumper it stays in place when you pull the bolts.
Slide the bumper to one side and pull away from the wheel well shield slide to the other side and it's off. The bumper is not heavy.
