Default 2000 Dodge Dakota Foggy Windows

Windows are foggy, defroster never really clears them. Has heat, no AC. The bearing on something burned up and a bypass part was put in, so no AC. (I am not mechanically savvy). No water on floor or pouring out anywhere.

Previous owners were smokers and window are really dirty. Is it really the heater core and that sounds like its going to be freakishly expensive.

I plan on scrubbing the crap out of windows.

Suggestions?

Air conditioner removes moisture from the air, so yes, it would help to have a functioning air conditioning system. If it is th heater core, you would also smell it. Are you losing coolant?

I am not loosing coolant. What you said makes absolute sense. Dumb question would it be cheaper to fix the AC? if it was a bearing in some thing? Gosh I wish I would have listened more to what that guy said it was.

What does the heater core smell like?

Heater core would be a sweet smell (antifreeze), and yes, it would be better to repair your AC system.
