I have a NV3500 out of a 2002-2003 dakota. The shifter is loose and after taking it apart, there are 2 bushings missing. In the link attached, post 8 there is a picture of the 2 small, yellow bushings. Does anyone know of a source for them? I thought about going to a hardware store and seeing if I could find something close and maybe cut it down to fit, but would rather just buy new if available. Thanks for your help.

I don't think those are available a new shifter is your only choice good luck with that.

Thanks for your reply. FWIW I purchased this transmission used to put in my 87 dakota. I believe whoever pulled the transmission has lost these bushings. For now, I am going to try and make some from nylon. Then if everything else works ok with the trans, I will look for a new shifter.

 

You could try a hard wood like Oak whatever you use it needs to be tuff to take the beating it gets.

The picture is a little deceiving. That is actually 2 spacers up against each other.
I drilled it out with a 1/4 bit, and that fit tight on the shifter. I then slightly ground the 2 sides so it would go in the housing. Then I had to slightly grind the top so it would pivot, slightly side to side.
I think it will work pretty well. But I have not got to drive it yet.
Once I do I will post some pictures
