97 and 99 Dakota engine to cab connector pinout. Please Help!
Ok, a little embarrassing.. but here it is in a nutshell. I bought a 99% rust free 1997 Dakota for 500 bucks. It was having electrical problems, the headlights were on with the ignition switch, very dim. When you pulled the headlight switch the parking lamps would come on. Pull it the whole way out, and the engine would die. I knew the 97s had issues with the headlight switch so I decided to upgrade to the newer style. I also thought it could be the CTM, so, I bought the ctm, headlight switch and compete cab harness out of a 99. It had a high line CTM, so I also bought the doors and I needed a new steering column so I grabbed that also. While installing all of this I notice a control module above the gas pedal.. I Google the name and numbers off the module, to find its a Kelsey Hayes 310 ABS control module. Present only in Dakota's made in 97. Well F**K!
So... I decide I'm going to take apart my old harness and trace these wires all down and add them into the 99 harness. Most of my wires were easy, some were already in the 99 harness, the ones that weren't, usually went to empty pin-outs.. but, a few going to the bolt on connector, for the cab to engine bay, had wires of a different color already present. I need to know what these wires are and where they go to. I really don't want to tear apart the harness that I'm using like I did my old one, because, well, I don't know what adhesive they used on that damn black cloth tape they cover the harness in, but for being 20 years old its still sticky as all hell, and it's not easy to cut it without nicking wires.
I'm neck deep into this, and really can't move forward without the pinout for these connections.. I've searched and searched for factory service manuals for free and haven't found them for these years. I really don't want to buy 2 of them just for this situation. Is there anyone on here who can help??
Thanks in advance.. Jeff

I have the 01 manual. The one in the left front fender is C352, the one above the brake pedal is C200.
C200 has 74 contacts in a rather random layout, C352 has 14 contacts in 2 rows of 7.
I assume C200 is the one in question? If so, maybe you get get somebody to find that specific connector in a manual somewhere?

Yeah, c200 sounds right. I found a pdf manual for 10 bucks, says it's a factory service manual, but it also says it covers 97-2004 Dakota's. .. I'm just worried if it will have all the diagrams and pin-outs I need for both years.
Ok, so, just to think out loud here, or Incase anyone is interested in hearing how this situation turns out.. I haven't got my manual yet, but should have it by tomorrow. While searching the web and looking at various diagrams, i notice on the 12volt.com that my 97 Dakota's headlight wire is light green (+). The 99 Dakota's is light green (-).. this made me think about the original problem the prior owner told me about.
The truck starts, headlights on, very very dim, with the switch off. Pull back to the first position, the parking lights come on.... Pull back the whole way, the engine dies, no headlights. Then I remember there were a lot of plugs with tape on them saying where they went in the engine bay... injectors, iac plug..ect... I'm wondering now if they may have changed the wiring harness in the engine bay, or the engine, and the wiring harness and kept the harness in the cab, therefore creating the positive/ negative, problem with the headlights.... so.... the first thing I'm checking when I get this manual tomorrow is the engine bay harness, and try to make sure what year it is.... so, I'll check it in the morning, and let you know what I find..
