Default 2001 Dakota motor swap

So I have a 2001 dodge dakota with a 4.7L in it and auto tranny. Truck has 270,000 miles. I have recently been offered a dodge 318/5.2L ,out of a 1500 I belive, freshly rebuilt for $100 due to the guy wants it out of his garage. I was wondering if the 318 will fit and bolt up to transmission in Dakota. Thanks

Nope, they don't bolt up. You'd be going through major pains to do a swap. Is your 4.7L abused? Mine has 276K and is running great.

No it was not abused. Its all highway miles and still runs great other than a power steering leak. Just figured for that good of a deal it'd be awesome to put a dakota.

IMO going from a 4.7 to a 5.2 is a step backwards. Not at all worth the effort.
