Trying to understand the heater actuator motors
2002 Dakota, no heat will blow out the floor. It comes out the dash vents instead. Sticking my head under the dash and watching the motors as I turn the ***** here is what I see.
When turning the temperature control the upper actuator appears to move correctly as I turn the control.
Turning the **** to direct where I want the air, the motor does turn but it appears something is hanging up not allowing whatever is suppose to move to get heat out the floor. I hear a clicking (binding) noise that is coming from the opposite side of the cam connected to the actuator motor. So something on that side is having difficulty moving.
That is about the best I can explain it. Any ideas what is going on?
