Default Rubbing and thunking

What started out as a distant sounding drive train rubbing noise in my 2002 dakota sport w/ all wheel drive has now become louder and is accompanied by a thunking that I feel under my feet in the floor pans. The rubbing sound is only present when moving and does not get faster when the truck is moving faster however the thunking occurs more often at higher speeds. There is no visible signs of rubbing or anything loose under the truck. As it only happens when moving and doesn't affect the power of the truck I have no idea what it is. Any one else ever experience this?

Check the front driveshaft. It's under your feet and is always moving. The CV joints can get loose.

Hi,

i have the same problem at this week.

i check the wheel hub .... it makes a noice like "knirrk" "kniirk"... the wheel can be moved in all directios without moving any other parts.

i think it is the wheel hub. but check the axle shaft and other parts too.
