Default 2000 abs question

hello, just a quick question. As stated in the title i have a 2000 dakota sport with the 3.9, extended cab auto. When i bought the truck i think the add said it had abs. Well winter is now here and i dont have abs. My question is did abs come standard with this model and year. If it did is it four wheel or just rear wheel. My abs light isn't on so what should i be looking for. Thanks

I know 2001 and up had a 3 channel ABS program. Meaning that the fronts had their own indepentant sensors and the rear had a single sensor. I would think that not a whole lot would chang between the years so first thing you need to check for is see if the ABS sensor in the front and rear is clean and free from debris. Second is make sure you have adaquate fluid. If it still doesn't kick on when you hammer the peddle(and stay on it) then take it to a shop so they can diagnos whats going on.

The ABS speed sensors are located behind the caliper and rotor almost inside the spindle.
