Any heater core replacement tips?
So the heater core is going to need to be replaced on my 2003 3.9L V6 Dakota and the mechanic quoted almost $800 to do it so that's not an option and I've done one before on a Camaro so chances are I can do this one too. I've looked it up and am finding different opinions online for how difficult it is and can't find anything with detailed instructions. From my understanding the AC system needs to be evacuated to do the job, correct? Would a Chiltons or Haynes guide have helpful info? Just any tips or advice or info in regards to tackling this project would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you need to evacuate the system.
Do you have a factory service manual? If not, download the 2001 (there is no 2003) version here:

Thank you! That is very helpful!
Have you done this before? Any idea how much trouble it is to do? Not really looking forward to doing another heater core replacement. The Camaro was hard enough and the mechanic said that Dodge trucks are even worse.
