Default Is thia possible??

Is it possible that on my 98 5.2 that keeps throwin a crank sensor code that maybe they gave me a cks for an auto and mine is manual....would that make it run crappy

Yes it would..... They are different lengths.

Also, the aftermarket sensors don't always get along well with the PCM. Get the right one from the dealer.

When I did my 5 speed swap I had to switch from an auto to a manual crank sensor. They have different plugs going into the harness. It's the same shape of plug and the wires are in the right spots, but there is a little fin on the plug that's in a different spot.

It's very possible that you got a bad one, I tried an ebay sensor first, but was getting intermittent stumbling and eventualy a crank sensor code.

I had to get a sensor from the $tealership and then shave the tab off so it would fit in my wiring harness.

My truck is a 2002 with a v6 so YMMV.
