Default Newbie here, oil in sensor

2000 Dakota 4.7. Pulled the plug to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor and oil ran out of the sensor. Is that normal?

Out of the sensor itself? Or the hole it goes into? Shouldn't be ANY oil IN the sensor.....

Default Newbie

The plug and sensor had oil in them. Used the air gun to clean out the plug before putting it in the new one..
