Question Replace original speakers??

I have an 02 quad with Infinity sound system. Everything is original. Several of the speakers sound like they rattle in the door or the speaker is just not clear anymore. What does it take to replace them other than ordering the correct size? Most important is removing the door panels to get access? How big of a job is it? Thanks

I had to change my speakers a few years back on my '00. It's not difficult at all to remove the door panels. Just a few screws and they "pop" off.

The new speakers fit the old openings perfectly. Wiring can be an issue. I wanted to reuse the old connectors so cut them off the old speakers and made up a jumper to connect to the new speakers. That way they plug in just as before.

Remember, the old speakers are 2 ohm. Mine are Infiniti.

Pulling door apart is piece of cake, so no issues there. I have infinity set up too, and you can just fix them (https://www.simplyspeakers.com/infin...t-fsk-6.5.html) rather than replace. Most speakers of this age aren't "blown", the foam has just fallen apart.

Do you have to replace with 2 OHM speakers? What happens if you use 4 OHM speakers?

Nothing much really. Just a bit of a volume difference.

6.5" speakers will work in all four door of a 2002 Quad cab with Infinity system?

My speakers are very low with no bass what so ever. Is there any way that is a foam issue?
