Good day, all.Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
I have a 2001 Dakota 4.7l 4X4. 183000 on the transmission. 5000 on the engine.
DTC P0740
It is also causing the Service 4X4 light to come on and the 4wd not to be able to shift.
I was wondering if this kit will work or if I should just bite the bullet and get the solenoid pack?

Or, should I find a used transmission with fewer miles from a junkyard?
Pull A Part has their transmissions at $80.00
I know transmissions from numerous models will fit as well as the 545RFE.
If I do go with the 545FRE what would I need from the donor vehicle?
I was also going to put in a larger transmission oil cooler.

I would be more tempted to replace the solenoid pack, or the whole trans, given the mileage. If you can get the whole trans for 80 bucks....... with any flavor of warranty, I would go for it.
