Default 1999 Dakota Fuel Pump

Is it possible to mount an external fuel pump in a 1999 Dakota 4WD with 5.2L and manual transmission? I would really like to avoid pulling the gas tank if possible.

If the pump in the tank is dead, it needs to come out anyway. An external pump will have a hard time pulling fuel thru the old pump.

You could always lift the bed instead.......

Lift the bed. It's 6 bolts and a couple electrical connectors for the tail lights.

It is possible, yes. But not worth the trouble....Lift the bed as suggested.
