Default I inadvertently drove in 2nd gear at high speeds...

I inadvertently drove in 2nd gear at high speeds and it seems to have caused me power steering problems. Is this possible and if so, what is the remedy?
Thank you,

What's the problem? Burned out pump bearings? Blown seals? If it's leaking fluid, you can try P.S. stop leak fluid.. My Chevy has had bad seals for the past five years.. About every six months, I have to top off my pump with a haft pint of stop leak.. Sure beats trying to pull my pump which is tucked up next to the fire wall..
