Hello everyone. I have a few questions about transmissions. I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota 4wd with the 3.9. I feel the transmission is starting to go after 173,000 miles. It shifts hard randomly, enough to rock the truck a bit. This is after changing the fluid not even a month ago. I might plan on replacing it, if it works easily. My friend has a transmission from a Durango that had a 5.9. That would be a 46RE, right? I'm pretty sure the 3.9 had the 42RE. Would a swap from a 42 to 46 work, or should I look for another 42RE or even a 44RE? Thank you all
